Biodiversity | Encouraging a variety of plant, animal, and microbial life within the agricultural system, fostering a more resilient and balanced ecosystem. |
Biomimicry | Learning from natural processes and mimicking them in agricultural practices for a more sustainable approach. |
Carbon Sequestration | Practices that capture atmospheric carbon and store it in the soil, mitigating some effects of climate change. |
Cover Crop | An additional crop between cash crop cycles to suppress weeds, improve soil fertility, and prevent erosion. |
Holistic Management | Considering the entire farm ecosystem when making decisions, including the interactions between soil, plants, animals, and humans. |
Regenerative Agriculture | A conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming systems. It focuses on improving the health of the soil, water, and atmosphere through a set of practices that mimic natural processes which generally increases biodiversity while reducing and/or eliminating dependence on chemical-based soil amendments (fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, etc.) |
